Life would really be much more exciting if we could do the things we wanted, travel when we wanted, spend time with family when we wanted, you get the picture, right? If we could do what we wanted and still be happy just think how much better the world would be.
So, what’s keeping us from doing what we would like?
The answer to that question could be a number of things but let’s not assume and instead use a simple metaphor. Picture your life as you sitting in a canoe drifting down a river. You don’t know what river, where it’s at, where it’s going, although, you do know that rivers normally head to the sea, usually!
The majority of people would be well content on sitting in the canoe riding along the river and enjoying the sights along the way until life says you’ve reached the end of your destination. But now that you’re at the end of your life’s journey, you think back and ask yourself, how much control did I have in choosing the route to my final destination? If I would have put some effort into taking another river maybe my trip would have been much more exciting, or maybe I would still be on my life journey instead of at the finish.
Regrets, I’ve had a few!
If this post gets you thinking about the journey, river, that your life is currently on and wondering how you can possibly change course, then I hope you bookmark my blog because this is one of the many things I’ll be talking about on my blog. Personal Development and Self-Help. Being a security researcher also gives me a good insight into the psychology of people and their thinking process. After all it’s those cleverly crafted emails, spam, malware, etc, that people click on that gets them infected to begin with.
We all have made mistakes, have our own issues we need to resolve, etc. But most people don’t know how to go about changing things or knowing what’s wrong in the first place. My hope, and goal, is to help those that are searching for assistance and a little direction. Life is full of challenges, decisions, goals, let downs, failures and while it seems the answers are no where to be found, in actuality you just need someone to help guide you to find the answers that are within you.
Our bodies and mind are full of answers; we just need to know how to ask the questions.
